How It Works

1. Initial Call or Proposal Request

The goal of our first conversation is to learn more about you and your tree care needs, make sure Blue River Forestry and Tree Care is a good fit for your tree care or plant health care project, and schedule a consultation with one of our ISA Certified Arborists.

2. Consultation for Proposal

We offer two different scheduling options for one of our ISA Certified Arborists to view your property.

  1. Our first option for consultations is an appointment request. This is where you will meet with the arborist on-site to walk through your property and discuss your needs, project goals, and budget.
  2. The second option for those not able to be on the property, have rentals, commercial properties or just have busy schedules, is for us to set up what we call a “GO See.” Our arborists are super capable of following your instructions and viewing your trees while you are at work. When a GO See is set up, we will provide a day that the proposal will be done on or before without an exact time for a meeting.
3. Receiving Your Proposal

All proposals are emailed after the arborist's initial visit. Typically you will receive your proposal within 24-48  hours after the initial walk-through unless there are out-of-the-ordinary items in the proposal such as crane use, traffic control, or right of way permits that may take us a bit longer to price for the project. After your proposal has been sent, you will receive a follow-up email or phone call to make sure you have received that proposal and if you have any questions we can answer. All proposals are itemized so that you may pick and choose items based on your property’s specific needs and budget.

4. Accepting Your Proposal

We like to make the process as easy as possible for you. Proposal changes and acceptances can all be done electronically. All proposals must be signed and accepted. We want to make sure everyone is on the same page on the work to be scheduled. Also, the Colorado Department of Agriculture requires signatures for all pesticide treatments. Our Terms and Conditions are linked in the proposal and are available for viewing on our website as well. Once you have accepted your proposal electronically, your project will be moved into “Work Order” status and will be scheduled.

5. Scheduling

Now that your project is moved into Work Order status, your Sales Arborist will begin to work on the scheduling process. Some of the items we take into consideration during the scheduling process are; the time it will take to complete the project, equipment needed for the project, crew size, as well as, tree species, and type of work requested such as pruning, removals, or plant health care. You may also let us know if you have specific scheduling requests. Maybe Mondays don’t work for you, or we must schedule around another project happening on the property. Once your project is scheduled you will receive an email titled “ You are Scheduled.” You may have one or more items that will be scheduled at different times, such as Emerald Ash Borer injections or stump grinding. If the scheduling date/s sent do not work for you, no problem, you can respond to the email or give us a call to let us know you require a different scheduling date.

6. Getting Prepared for Your Tree Service

Parking adjustments should be made prior to the crew’s arrival. Forestry equipment includes trucks and chippers and sometimes, depending on the project, a bucket truck that will need space to access the trees. Please have the driveway clear and parking accessible in front of your yard or trees. Also, before our arrival please prepare by moving any items under the trees out of the way. A clear work zone for tree care is not only required but helpful for the crew. This includes items like patio furniture, Gramma's 100-year-old ceramic pot, Christmas lights, and any other items that may be decorating the trees or lawn. Your arborist will provide you with additional details that may be needed to prepare for our arrival. If you have animal companions that use the yard, please make sure the yard is cleared of animal waste - this keeps the area sanitary for our crews, ropes, and equipment.  Also, please make sure to keep your animal companions indoors for the time we are onsite. We love your pets too and want them to feel safe and comfortable.

7. Work Begins

Our team will arrive on your scheduled day in uniform so you’ll always know who is on your property. Your foreman will do a pre-work walk-through with you onsite, answer any questions you have, and then start your project. It is not necessary that you be home or property as long as we have access to all areas and cars and other obstacles that may block equipment are moved. Details specific to your project will be discussed with you prior so that on your scheduled day, everyone is clear about what needs to be done, and the crew can get to work caring for your trees.

8. Final Project Walk Through

All job sites receive a worksite clean-up, including the removal of logs, brush, and debris associated with the work performed. If you are home and onsite, we’d love to do a final project walk-through with you. If you are not available for the final walk-through at the end of the day, we will do a follow-up call to see if you have any questions.

9. Invoicing

All invoices are sent by email, due upon receipt, and may be paid by check or credit card. We have an online payment portal to make the process super easy.
